How quickly the summer is flying by... it's already July 4th weekend and the summer mid-point.
How is it that time is going by so fast?
Tonight was family night at the annual Webster Groves Community Days; family night = $25 all-you-can-ride bracelets which are perfect for little boys (and Kayla!) who like to ride things like the Hurricane and the Tilt-A-Whirl multiple times.
Tons of fun while it lasted but Ben had a major meltdown so he & I left earlier than anticipated (no ferris wheel or funnel cake for me this year) while the other 3 stayed and played.
Now we are gearing up for the fireworks this weekend along with the parade and year 10 of our annual party!
While Andrew graduated almost a month ago, we finally got around to celebrating the big accomplishment. (REALLY big accomplishment as he graduated with honors and a Masters Degree in Accounting!)
Ann Marie & Brian hosted the fabulous event which involved a much deserved pool dunking:

There was also watermelon, a trampoline, swimmers fully clothed and a small birthday serenade during the course of the day. When all was said and done, it was an excellent party and all photos can be found on Flickr.
That would be Ms. Kayla... who flew into town early this morning with her mom and stepdad-to-be in tow. Drew bugged me non-stop about seeing her from the time we woke up this morning until we finally made it by Grannie Annie and Papa Fred's house late this afternoon.
Kay spent the afternoon with us playing in the rain and the mud with the buggers. Rather it be her than me!
So good to see her and she keeps getting taller.
Because I'm a terrible aunt, I never mailed off her birthday gift back in May but for once my procrastination paid off -- she had her new pogo stick here in St. Louis to use with Drew...
We are getting ready for a few rough days ahead with the wake of Grandpa Lu tomorrow and the funeral on Tuesday morning. Please keep his kids in your prayers as well as Doris who is still on the mend from last week.
Today was a rainy, dreary day for the 3rd annual Jaguar 5K so we decided not to run.
(Isn't that a great excuse for not running? Because it was raining? It's much better than admitting there is absolutely no freaking way I could run a 5K given that I haven't exercised in about 4 weeks.)
We did head up to school for the carnival after the race as Brad & I volunteered to work a booth for a half hour. That half hour quickly turned into an hour of applying hideous tattoos to the arms of elementary school kids. Because of the rain, the carnival was held in the gym and both the tattoo and face painting booths were incredibly popular.

Needless to say, they both got a lot of stares and comments when we went to Schnucks after the carnival.
